PLAINFIELD, IL — As part of an $850,000 overhaul of the Plainfield Park District-owned Eaton Preserve this summer, the roof on the old shed on the property is being removed this week ahead of a new roof installation.

The 75-acre land, located along the DuPage River, received a $400,000 grant from the State of Illinois Open Space Land Acquisition & Development in late 2020.

Other improvements on the land include replacing existing playgrounds and volleyball courts, installing picnic areas, and improving site and shelter access, according to a news release from the park district.
