Plainfield's Final Cruise Night Show Is Tonight

The final car show of the summer will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Lockport Street in downtown Plainfield.

PLAINFIELD, IL — Summer is slowly coming to an end, and Plainfield's weekly Cruise Night car show is holding its final event Tuesday night.

Starting at 5:30 p.m. on Lockport Street between South James Street and Route 59, visitors can mingle and take in the array of classic and modern cars lining the street. For the final free event, the theme is tractor night, sponsored by Webb Chevrolet Plainfield.

"You'll see a wide variety of vehicles," Tasha Marsaglia, executive director of the Plainfield Shorewood Area Chamber of Commerce, told Patch ahead of the first show in June. "You'll see your classic cars and you'll see your newer versions of Corvettes and Mustangs and show cars. … It's nice for us to see car owners each week."

Car enthusiasts and owners will have other opportunities this year to showcase their cars. There will be a car show, along with an array of other events, at Lockport Township's Fire Prevention Week Open House Oct. 2, which Plainfield Cruise Nights posted about on Facebook.

Cruise Night t-shirts will be for sale at the Plainfield Shorewood Area Chamber of Commerce's office, 24109 W. Lockport St., before the show.
