Police: No Arrests in Plainfield Shooting

Police continue to follow up on leads; anyone with information is asked to contact detectives.

Police are still looking for three men involved in the Aug. 14  during an apparent drug-related armed robbery.

The man was shot in the upper chest area after pursuing the suspects as they ran from an apartment in the 24000 block of Main Street, police said last week.

Det. Sgt. Kevin McQuaid said three men entered the apartment around 1 a.m., demanding drugs and money. The assailants reportedly scuffled with the six occupants of the apartment before fleeing.

The 19-year-old resident was shot after he chased the suspects and became engaged in a struggle with one of them in the vestibule of the apartment building, police said.

Another resident was injured in the struggle inside the apartment when one of the suspects punched him several times in the face, according to police.

Last week, , and that it was unclear whether the three men forced their way into the apartment or were allowed inside.

McQuaid said no arrests have been made in the case.

“There’s nothing new we can release right now,” he said. “We’re still actively investigating it.”

According to police, two of the three suspects were wearing bandanas over their faces when they entered the apartment. Two of them were also carrying guns, described as a semiautomatic handgun and a shotgun.

The 19-year-old, who suffered non-life-threatening injuries, was shot with the handgun, police said.

McQuaid said the incident is not related to an attempted armed robbery at a in July or an armed robbery and last week.

Three men were arrested in the 7-Eleven robbery, while the suspect in the Burger King shooting remains at large. No one was injured in either incident.
