Pom Team Featuring Plainfield Girls Takes First Place in Competition
They competed in the mini division.

A pom and dance team made up of local girls took first place in their division at the Badgerettes Spooktacular Competition at Six Flags Great America.
The J&K Elite Mini Poms Team "Storm" features Shorewood resident Sophia and Cali, Plainfield residents Zoey and Emma, Crest Hill resident Genevieve, Joliet resident Liahna and Channahon resident Bryanna. Their last names have been withheld at the request of their parents.
Coached by Kristine Wedra and Cora Menelli, the girls presented a sharp and clean routine to bring home the 1st place trophy, according to a team news release. This is their first year in the mini division, but five of the girls competed in the "tiny poms" division last year. They will be competing at various areas in the Midwest, with their next competition taking place in Iowa in November.
