PLAINFIELD, IL — The railroad crossing gates at 127th Street and Route 30 in Plainfield are malfunctioning Thursday morning, Plainfield police said.

Officials published an alert at 10:35 a.m. letting the Facebook community know the gates were down. Canadian National sent technicians to resolve the issues.

Police warned drivers not to attempt to cross the tracks and instead follow instructions from emergency personnel on the scene. Before proceeding, locals should wait for the gate to be repaired and ensure all warning signals have stopped.
