2019 brings us to the 47th year of Plainfield Jr. Cats Tackle Football and Cheer!!

PJC is a non-profit, volunteer-ran, competitive and developmental youth tackle football and cheer program that was created in 1972 as a feeder program to local high schools. This remains the foundation to our program today! The board members and coaches work closely with area high school coaches throughout the year to create a program that sets our players and cheerleaders up for success as they reach high school level sports. PJC is also proud to be the Plainfield Park District’s only affiliated football program.

ABOUT PJC PROGRAMS

Our season begins in July with Football Boot Camp & Evaluations and Cheer Camp. Football games and Cheer will begin in August and run through October. Other mini camps and clinics are offered prior to the season beginning and are not mandatory, but encouraged to build skills. We encourage everyone to register early in the year to ensure they receive communications about everything we offer.

Most of our In-house football games are played at Four Season’s Park located at 22500 Lockport St. near downtown Plainfield. This location has two fields, a central tower, a great concession stand, picnic tables, bleachers and our on-site storage facility. In-House practices are held at Four Seasons Park in Plainfield or at other Plainfield Park District facilities.

Our Travel football league typically travels for half of its games during the season. The remainder of our games are played at our home fields at Four Seasons Park. Our Travel League practices at Four Seasons West which is located an 1/8 of a mile west of Four Seasons Park on Lockport Street.

Our Cheer program is committed to training and preparing kids to cheer at the next level. We offer a free cheer camp with your registration that takes place at Plainfield Central High School. The Cheerleaders are taught by current High School, Competitive, and former Cheerleaders.

As times are changing, the high standards of PJC are not! All of our football coaches are trained and certified by USA Football and are certified in The Heads Up Program. Our goal is to provide the safest environment possible to teach kids fundamental football and develop them to be as competitive as they wish. Our coaches attend training seminars given by some of the most reputable coaches in the country. All coaches and board members are required to complete a background check every year, no exceptions.

PJC MISSION STATEMENT:

PJC is committed to providing a positive and nurturing environment for youth Kindergarten thru 8th grade, that will teach lifelong lessons through competition and encouragement.
