Renwick & River Road Now A 4-Way Stop

Plainfield Township Highway Commissioner Ken Marland said the work was completed Friday.

PLAINFIELD, IL — The intersection of Renwick and River roads is now a four-way stop, Plainfield Township Highway Commissioner Ken Marland announced Friday.

"We have performed a number of traffic studies at the intersection," Marland said Friday in a Facebook post. "There has also been a number of accidents. It was found that this is the first step towards a possible signal light at that intersection. I understand at times this will cause delays, but many of those times are also the very time students are going to or leaving Plainfield Central H.S. Public safety is the reason for this implementation."

The intersection, located near the Plainfield American Legion Marne Post, has seen big chances in recent years, not least of all the addition of the Renwick Road bridge, which opened in 2012.
