Route 126, 143rd Street Open After Blocked By Train: Plainfield Police

A train stopped for "an unknown reason" blocked a few Plainfield streets around 8:30 a.m., but traffic is once again moving.

PLAINFIELD, IL — Traffic on Route 126 and 143rd Street in Plainfield is once again moving after a train blocked paths for about 15 minutes Tuesday morning, police said.

Plainfield police posted on Facebook at 8:33 a.m. to say a train was stopped "due to an unknown problem." As of 8:47 a.m., the train was moving again.

"All crossings should be clear shortly," police wrote. "Thank you for your patience."
