See How Spooktacular Will Impact Downtown Plainfield Traffic

The Plainfield Shorewood Area Chamber of Commerce-hosted event features trick-or-treating at participating businesses, games and more.

PLAINFIELD, IL — Locals from in and around Plainfield will take to the streets of downtown to celebrate Halloween with the annual Spooktacular on Saturday.

The Plainfield Shorewood Area Chamber of Commerce-hosted event features trick-or-treating at participating businesses, games and events at the Plainfield Area Public Library.

Spooktacular is expected to cause significant delays in and around downtown Plainfield, according to police, who encouraged anyone not planning to attend to avoid the area.

The following streets will close starting at 10:45 a.m. Saturday:

  • Lockport Street from James Street to Route 59
  • Fox River Street at Lockport Street
  • Des Plaines Street at Lockport Street

Illinois Street will remain open to north- and southbound traffic. Route 59 and Route 126 will be open, but drivers should expect delays when turning to go westbound on Lockport Street from Route 59.
