Time Running Out To Sign Up For Run For The Brave

The 5K returns to Plainfield on Memorial Day weekend.

PLAINFIELD, IL — For the seventh year, Operation Welcome You Home (OWYH) will bring its "Run For The Brave" (formerly the Wounded Warrior 5K) to Plainfield. This year's event includes a walk/run and ruck, or running with a weighted pack. As always, the event takes place the Saturday before Memorial Day, which falls on May 26, 2018, at Plainfield North High School, 12005 S. 248th Ave.

The 3.1-mile race is USA Track & Field and Chicago Area Runners Association certified. Awards will be presented to overall male and female finishers, along with first-, second- and third-place finishers in each age division.

First-, second- and third-place ruck runners will also receive awards.

Before May 1, online registration fees are $35 for adults (age 11 and older), $25 for kids age 10 and younger. Online registration fees increase by $5 after May 1. Race-day registration is cash only and $45 for adults and $30 for kids.
