Update: Stopped Train No Longer Blocks Lockport Street: Plainfield PD
It took quicker than expected to solve the problem, police said, so Lockport Street is once again open in Plainfield.
PLAINFIELD, IL — A track issue caused a train to block Lockport Street, east of Route 59, near downtown Plainfield Wednesday morning, police said.
The problem was resolved quicker than expected, and the train was once again moving by about 8:35 a.m.
"Well thankfully that wasn’t a long wait," police said in a Facebook post thanking drivers for their patience.

Plainfield officers encouraged drivers to use alternate routes — Renwick Road is an option. As of 8:28 a.m., there was no estimated time to reopen the tracks, according to officials.
