Streets Around Village Green Park To Temporarily Close For Harvest 5K

Road closures may also temporarily restrict access to downtown Plainfield and Plainfield Central High School, Plainfield police said.

PLAINFIELD, IL — Several streets just south of downtown Plainfield will be closed for a few hours Sunday morning in order to accommodate the Harvest 5K Run/Walk.

The one-mile run for kids will begin at 8:30 a.m. and the 5K Run/Walk will kick off 45 minutes later, at 9:15 a.m., at Village Green Park.

Temporary road closures will be in place on the following streets Sunday morning before the Harvest 5K. Parking will also be prohibited on these streets:

  • Fox River Street between Lockport and Commercial streets
  • Des Plaines Street between Chicago and Commercial streets
  • Illinois Street between Chicago and Commercial streets
  • Chicago Street between Illinois and Fox River streets
  • Ottawa Street from James to Illinois streets
  • Commercial Street from James to Illinois streets
  • Fort Beggs Drive from James Street to Pratt Lane
  • River Road from Fort Beggs Drive to Renwick Road
  • All of River Court

Police noted the road closures may also temporarily restrict access to downtown Plainfield and Plainfield Central High School.

The event is expected to end at about 11 a.m., and roadways will open immediately after, according to Plainfield police.
