PLAINFIELD, IL — Plainfield North High School is having problems with what could be fart sprays, according to an email obtained by Patch sent to parents.

High school administrators sent the email titled "Pepper spray" to parents on Monday afternoon. Despite the subject line, the correspondence specified the high school, off South 248th Avenue, was not having problems with pepper spray but "unfortunately navigated situations where students used terrible smelling sprays in the hallways during passing period."

Asked about the incident, Plainfield School District 202 Director of Community Relations Linda Taylor said, "We do not have any information on this request." It's unclear if any students fell ill due to the spray.
