Three Retail Theft Arrests Made In Plainfield In Last Month: Cops
Two women were arrested and charged on separate occasions with stealing from Plainfield's Walmart Supercenter.

PLAINFIELD, IL — Three people were arrested in Plainfield in the last month and charged with retail theft, Plainfield police reported Monday.
Romeoville resident Marissa A. Burt, of Honeybear Lane, was arrested at Plainfield's Walmart Supercenter Aug. 20. The 43-year-old was charged with theft after police said she concealed and removed merchandise from the store, located at 12690 S. Route 59. Officials listed the charge as "permissive inference" in Monday's report, meaning prosecutors likely don't have direct evidence Burt stole the items police said they recovered from her.
Fifty-year-old Afreen Fatima Abedi, of the 12700 block of South Terrace Boulevard in Plainfield, was arrested Sept. 17, police reported. She was also charged with retail theft at the Walmart Supercenter. The charge claims the woman used an under-ring method to steal, meaning a lesser amount was charged for an item priced higher.
