What To Expect From Plainfield Food Truck Fest, Fireworks Show
So far, nine food trucks are set to participate in the inaugural Plainfield Food Truck Festival ahead of the Fourth of July fireworks show.
PLAINFIELD, IL — Fourth of July weekend is less than two weeks out. It will be marked by the return of a fireworks show and an inaugural food truck festival.
The Plainfield Food Truck Festival, which is taking the place of the Patriotic Picnic, will be held from 4-9 p.m. July 3 in the parking lot of Bott Park, 24550 W. Renwick Road.
So far, nine vendors — organizers have a goal of 10 — are set to participate:

- Kissed by Fire, which specializes in barbecue and wood-fired pizza
- Woogie Rolls, featuring egg roll cuisine
- Hello Boba, serving boba tea and smoothies
- Burrito Xpress, featuring burritos chihuahua style
- Yum Dum, Chicago's dumpling and bao truck
- Happy Lobster Truck, serving lobster rolls
- Taco Stop on Wheels, offering tacos, nachos and guacamole
- Serna's Grill, serving monster gyros, burgers and loaded fries
- La Tortuga Feliz, featuring Mexican cuisine
The food truck festival is free to attend, but guests are encouraged to reserve a spot through Eventbrite to give organizers a head count.

The fireworks show, organized by the Village of Plainfield and Plainfield Park District will immediately follow the festival. Recommended parking and viewing locations include Bott Park; Plainfield Central High School, 24120 W. Fort Beggs Drive; and St. Mary Immaculate Parish, 15629 S. Route 59.
In light of the Independence Day activities July 3, parking restrictions will be in place on River Road and on Renwick Road between Hometown Drive and Spangler's Farm Drive. No parking will be allowed on one side of Hometown Drive.
The baseball fields and bike path at Bott Park will close at about 10 a.m. July 3, and the playground at the park will close at 8:30 p.m.
"There will be an increase in pedestrian traffic in the area. All motorists are advised to use caution on Monday evening when driving near and around PCHS," police said Friday. "Anyone planning to come and enjoy the food truck festival and fireworks show is reminded to expect significant traffic delays at the conclusion of the event."
Parking can be found at and across the street from Plainfield Central and by Bott Park. Police also noted there will be a limited amount of accessible parking near the tennis courts at Bott Park.
