Where To Celebrate New Year's Eve In Plainfield

Several locations in and near Plainfield are hosting New Year's Eve parties Friday.

PLAINFIELD, IL — A new year is right around the corner, and as Plainfield residents are gearing up with resolutions and goals for 2022, several businesses are preparing for New Year's Eve festivities.

Several venues, restaurants and bars will host special celebrations — some include musical performances, while others include interesting tasting menus.

With COVID-19 on the rise thanks to the omicron variant, plans have the possibility to change, so guests are encouraged to call in advance or keep track of social media for last-minute updates.

Chop'd, 12337 S. Route 59 in Plainfield

Spending New Year's Eve at Chop'd means you'll be listening to live music courtesy of The Hair Band Night, indulging in a midnight pizza buffet and having fun with Khaos Brewcade games.

A midnight champagne toast and party favors also come in the package. The night of celebrations starts at 9 p.m. and is scheduled to last until 1 a.m.

For children who want to celebrate the new year but can't stay up late, Chop'd is also hosting a kid-friendly event. For $20, they can see a balloon drop, drink non-alcoholic champagne, enjoy a pizza buffet, listen to a DJ perform and get party favors.

If eating pizza at midnight sounds like the move, tickets for the event cost $20 presale — purchasable by calling 815-782-8599 or visiting the restaurant — or $30 night-of.

HopScotch & Vine, 24047 W. Lockport St. in Plainfield

Want to end the year with a luxurious meal? HopScotch & Vine has you covered. The restaurant is offering several New Year's Eve packages that include four courses with gourmet dishes — including goat cheese bruschetta, steak au poivre, slow-roasted prime rib and steamed lobster tails.

The price of the meal depends on when you dine. For early dining between 4:30 p.m. and 7 p.m., it costs $35, compared to $50 for late dining between 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Beverages, tax and gratuity aren't included in the price.

Freedom Brothers Pizzeria & Alehouse, 11914 S. Route 59 in Plainfield

Spending New Year's Eve at Freedom Brothers means you choose when you celebrate.

Guests will be able to choose between two party times: 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. or 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Each reservation includes dinner seating, a balloon drop, a toast with either non-alcoholic sparkling juice or champagne, and party favors, including noisemakers and funny hats.

Reservations are required and can be made here. Organizers said walk-ins are welcome but festivities can't be guaranteed.

Plainfield Lanes, 15610 S. Joliet Road in Plainfield

A New Year's Eve celebration bowling could be one for the books. On the last day of the year, party packages include unlimited bowling for up to five players per lane, shoe rental and party favors. The bowling alley will also have guests covered as the package also includes a large pizza and pitcher of soda.

The party has sold out in the last six years Plainfield Lanes hosted, so reservations online are required. Depending on when you visit, the cost per lane with a party package ranges from $129.95 to $199.95.

Chicago Street Pub, 75 N. Chicago St. in Joliet

The pub's tradition of hosting an Irish new year celebration is happening once again this winter. Chicago Street Pub is requiring reservations for the event that starts at 4 p.m. and as of Tuesday, all spots are taken, staff told Patch.

At the celebration, guests will be listening to John Condron perform and will participate in a champagne toast at 6 p.m. — the start of the new year in Ireland.

The Forge, 22 W. Cass St. in Joliet

Crowds will likely be ringing in the new year at The Forge, one of the only nightclubs in the area for people 18 and older. Five DJs playing hip hop, reggaeton and top hits will be providing the sounds for the event that costs $20 to attend.

Doors open at 10 p.m., and the party will last until 3 a.m. A dress code is in place requiring guests to wear no sweats and hoodies.

Tailgater's Sports Bar and Grill, 431 W. Boughton Road in Bolingbrook

Tailgater's is kicking off the new year — and ending 2021 — with performances from The Remedy and Starlight City. Doors open at 7 p.m., and the show starts at 8 p.m.

While guests must be 21 to enter, the show includes party favors, a balloon drop and a champagne toast at midnight.

Tickets cost $12 in advance or $15 day-of. VIP seating, which guarantees a spot close to the stage, costs $18 in advance or $20 day-of.
