Who's Running for the Plainfield School Board?

Four seats are up for grabs in District 202

With four spots up for grabs on the Plainfield Community Consolidated School District 202 Board of Education, three incumbents have filed petitions to seek another term, according to the Will County Clerk's office. Three additional candidates are also seeking spots on the board.

Candidates in the April 4 general election are:

  • Incumbent Rod Westfall
  • Incumbent David W. Koch, appointed in 2015 to fill a vacancy on the board
  • Robert C. Smith
  • Incumbent William A. Slabich Jr.
  • Michael E. Robey
  • Nabeeha Bakhrani

All are Plainfield residents.

Current board president Michelle Smith, whose term expires in April, did not file petitions to seek re-election, according to the clerk's office.

Feb. 23 is the first day vote by mail ballots can be mailed in Will County and the first day of early voting. March 7 is the last day to register to vote in person or by mail, and March 19 is the last day to register online.
