Wild West Side: Gunman Shoots Car Tire, Runs Off In Far West Subdivision

The gunman fired once in the air before shooting the tire, police said.

A gunman opened fire and shot the tire of a teen’s car on Joliet’s far west side Monday night.

The teen said two young men rushed at his car while he was near the corner of Sahara Drive and Reflection Court shortly after 10 p.m.

The teen reportedly told police he got out of his car to confront the pair, whom he’s had problems with in the past, and one of the young men produced a pistol from the waistband of his pants.

The gunman fired a shot in the air, police said. He then fired and hit a tire on the teen’s car.

The gunman and his sidekick took off running and police had not located them by Tuesday morning.
