Woman, 36, Convicted of Having Sex with Plainfield High School Student
Shana Cox could face up to seven years in prison for being found guilty of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.

A Joliet woman who admitted she had sex with a 15-year-old high school student in 2010 has been convicted of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.
Shana C. Cox, 36, was found guilty Wednesday by a Will County jury who apparently did not believe her defense that she thought the boy was 18 or older, according to a Chicago Sun-Times story.
The teen was a friend of her daughter's boyfriend. The victim testified that the relationship ended when he had a fight with Cox, the story said. He damaged her car, and when contacted by police, he told them about their affair, according to testimony recounted in the Sun-Times story.
