• AFSCME release statement on Pontiac prison stabbing (centralillinoisproud.com) — A correctional sergeant was seriously injured in a stabbing Wednesday at Pontiac Correctional Center and airlifted to OSF in Peoria, while a responding officer was treated and released. Union leaders praised staff for quickly subduing the attacker despite short staffing and said the incident underscores daily dangers for Pontiac prison employees. The case remains under investigation.
