Nearly 70 Citations During Speed Awareness Day: Rockford Police

Several citations, warnings and arrests were the result of Rockford Police Department's involvement in Illinois Speed Awareness Day.

ROCKFORD, IL — The Rockford Police Department reported results of the July 25 Illinois Speed Awareness Day, a campaign organized by the Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police Traffic Safety. RPD said the third annual initiative resulted in:

  • 69 citations
  • 29 warnings
  • 10 arrests for driving with a suspended/revoked license
  • 1 arrested for an outstanding warrant
  • 1 felony arrest
  • 1 illegal handgun recovered

Several other police departments including Montgomery's participated in Illinois Speed Awareness Day.
