The new facility will centralize obstetric, gynecological, and surgical services, with deliveries coordinated through nearby UW Health, aiming to streamline care for patients and providers when it opens next summer.

Dean Trevonne Thompson reflects on first six months as Rockford regional dean (uic.edu) — Rockford's medical community has new leadership as Dr. Trevonne Thompson completes his first six months as regional dean of the University of Illinois College of Medicine Rockford. 5. Major pumpkin theft impacts first-year family farm in Boone County (wifr.com) — A first-year family farm in nearby Capron has ended its pumpkin season early after thieves allegedly stole nearly all of its unharvested pumpkins, forcing it to withdraw from the Boone County Farm Stroll. The owners, who lack crop insurance, say multiple farms around Poplar Grove and Capron have been hit and urge Rockford-area residents to watch for suspicious activity and support local growers.
