We are proud to announce the Northwest Concert Band’s 2026 Spring Concert on Saturday, April 18 at 3pm. Join us as we celebrate the 250th Anniversary of our nation with music by some of our favorite American composers.
Our program will include pieces such as the following:
- “A Copland Tribute” by Aaron Copland arr. Clare Grundman. This tribute is a medley of Copland works including passages from "Fanfare for the Common Man," “Appalachian Spring”, and "Hoe-Down".
- “Variations On America”, by Charles Ives arr. William E Rhoads. This piece presents playful variations on “My Country, 'Tis of Thee”, and was composed by Ives at the age of 17.
- “Suite Of Old American Dances Movements”, by Robert Russell Bennett. Each of the 5 movements of this piece is based on a dance from the beginning of the 20th Century. We will be playing the last three movements.
- “Echoes Of The American West”, by NWCB music director Randy Steinberg. This music evokes visions of unsettled frontiers, mountains and valleys, trains crossing the west, and cattle drives.
The concert will be held at the Community Church of Rolling Meadows, 2720 Kirchoff Road, Rolling Meadows (click here). Admission is $10 for adults payable at the door. Ages 18 and younger attend for free.
Congratulations to the Northwest Concert Band for 10 years of playing concerts, parades, and special events in the Northwest suburbs.
