The 11 Most Endangered Historic Illinois Sites in 2015
If nothing is done soon, these historic sites could become ancient history.

Landmarks Illinois, an organization that tracks and monitors the state’s historic sites, added 11 more places to its list of the most endangered in 2015.
This is the 20th annual list released by the organization, with more than 200 sites listed total. After procuring a spot on the endangered list, fewer than 20 percent of the sites have gone on to be demolished, according to Landmarks Illinois President Bonnie McDonald.
“We believe that understanding our common past enriches our future,” McDonald said in explaining the new list.
