3 In Custody After Fleeing, Eluding In Romeoville: Police

The three people were taken into custody early Tuesday morning after a search ended in Romeoville.

ROMEOVILLE, IL — Three people are in custody after Romeoville Police assisted Illinois State Police with a search on Monday night, according to the Village of Romeoville Facebook.

Illinois State Police were seeking three people wanted for fleeing and eluding, and possession of a weapon, according to the Village.

State Police told Patch that a state trooper initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle on northbound Interstate 55 at 11 p.m. Monday. The vehicle fled the traffic stop, and state police did not pursue.

Shortly after, state troopers responded to a single-vehicle crash on I-55 at Weber Road, for the same vehicle, police said. The three people were seen running from the scene.

By 1:56 a.m. Tuesday, the three people were in custody, according to the Village Facebook.
