All-Clear Given After Lockdown Activated At RC Hill

Police were investigating how the alarm was activated.

ROMEOVILLE, IL — Romeoville police said students were never in any danger after a lock-down alarm at R.C. Hill Elementary School, 616 Dalhart Ave., was activated. Police responded to the alarm at around 1:31 p.m. Wednesday.

Police said it was initially unknown how the alarm was activated. Students were placed in a hard lock down as a precaution as officers made sure the building was safe.

An investigation revealed the alarm was accidentally activated. As of just before 2 p.m., police announced an all-clear at the campus.
