Heritage Theatre Company (HTC) is excited to present the second Alumni Connections Concert on Saturday, November 1 at 7:30 p.m. in the Lewis University Oremus Fine Arts Center’s Studio Theatre. Hosting the evening’s entertainment is Lewis alumnus Ted Slowik ‘87. A Joliet singer/songwriter, Ted is a storyteller with a heart and a healthy sense of humor. His songs range from the political and social commentary of “Springfield” and “Hinsdale” to the personal family history of “Slowiks.”
Joining Slowik on his original ballad “Red Rover” is Allison Flood. She is an Americana singer-songwriter whose roots dig as deep as the origins of the music she loves and continue to stretch out past the current boundaries of the contemporary folk genre. The final member to emerge from the ashes of the highly regarded Americana group Stone City Stragglers, Allison has built on the groundwork laid during those formidable years and solidified her return to the fold with a style, presence and voice uniquely her own.
Headlining the evening will be John Condron, a Philadelphia-born singer-songwriter,musician, and producer who resides in Joliet. The former frontman for thepower quartet “the benefit” has been spending much of his time focusing on solo performances as well as performances with his new full band, The Old Gang Orchestra. Condron shares his time between performing and producing works for other artists, including, a full-length studio recording for multi-platinum Irish singer songwriter Mickey Harte, and writing and production collaboration with legendary songwriter Paul Brady. Over the years, Condron has shared the bill with many major label and independent acts from varying walks of life including Grammy-nominated songwriter, poet and artist Joseph Arthur, guitar legend Adrian Belew, bluesman Kenny Wayne Shepherd, singer-songwriter Duncan Sheik, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees The Lovin’ Spoonful, & Irish legends Finbar Furey & Francie Conway. He is one of only three American artists to have performed a set as part of Francie Conway’s “Troubador Club.”
