Bicyclist Traveling Against Traffic Struck by Car
Police say the man is slowly making a recovery, but is still listed in serious condition.

ROMEOVILLE, IL — A man traveling against traffic on a bicycle was struck by a car Wednesday afternoon.
Romeoville Police Commander John Ferdinardo said the man was traveling southbound on Route 53 at around 12:24 p.m., but was going against traffic.
A car was traveling northbound when the bicyclist cut in front of the female driver and she struck him, Ferdinardo said.

The man was taken to Bolingbrook Hospital with head injuries, broken ribs and a broken left arm. He was then transferred to Loyola.
“As of yesterday (Jan. 28), he was slowly making a recovery, but was still in pretty serious condition,” Ferdinardo said.

The incident is still under investigation, but it’s believed that alcohol and drugs were not a factor.
