A Bolingbrook man was sentenced to 160 years in prison for sexually assaulting a 6-year-old girl in 2009, the Will County State’s Attorney’s Office said Wednesday.

William K. Freund, 33, of 461 Seminole Lane, entered a blind plea of guilty in October to four counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child.

The victim, who was 6 at the time of the assault, is the daughter of Freund’s former girlfriend. Freund and the girl’s mother broke up, and Freund married another woman, authorities said. But the case broke in 2011 when his wife discovered photographs of the sexual assault on the memory card for Freund’s camera.

“This is the second horrific case of this nature that my prosecutors have closed out in as many days with a sentence higher than 100 years,” State’s Attorney James Glasgow said. “We can rest assured that William Freund will never take another step as a free man because of the appalling crime he committed against an innocent young girl.”

The 160-year sentence was handed down by Judge Edward Burmila. Freund received 40 years for each of the four predatory criminal sexual assault charges. The sentences will run consecutively for a total of 160 years.

Assistant State’s Attorneys Fred Harvey and Christine Vukmir secured the guilty plea and sentence, according to Glasgow’s office.
