What Is Love?
On Valentine's Day, when we think about what love is, how do we define it? What does love "look like?"
What is love?
On this Valentine's Day, like most of you, I'm thinking about what love is. So, here are a few thoughts:
Love is
- cuddling beneath the covers with your lover
- holding hands with your child or parent
- crying on the shoulder of your best friend
- watching endless episodes of "Pawn Stars," or "American Pickers," or any other History Channel or Discovery Channel show, just so you can be close to your spouse or partner (okay, maybe this just fits me and Steve)
- sharing communion with your brother or sister in Christ
- praying over someone in need of healing
- letting go of the past so you can move into the future
- the one thing that will never give up, never lose hope, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance (1 Corinthians 13:7)
- God and God is love (1 John 4:16).
I hope you had a great Valentine's Day and that you were able to both give love and receive love today — with your family, with your friends, or even among strangers.
