This week, we caught up with Jennifer Williams, the aquatic and fitness supervisor for the Lockport Township Park District, to learn more about the offerings available at Heritage Falls Water Park in Romeoville.
Romeoville Patch: How long have you been in business?
Jennifer Williams: Lockport Township Park District was established in 1945. Heritage Falls Water Park was designed in 1996 after the Romeoville School District donated the land where it currently sits.

Patch: What are your hours of operation?
Williams: The hours of operation for the outdoor pools is from 12 noon to 7 p.m. Monday-Friday (or 11 a.m. for pool pass holders only) and 12 noon to 5 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
The hours of operation for the indoor pool is from 1 to 4 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
Patch: How many staff members do you employ?
Williams: Each pool employs about 20 lifeguards/swim instructors plus two managers. We have a total of 80 lifeguards/instructors, seven managers and six cashiers.
All staff members must go through a intensive preseason training to prepare themselves for the hot days of summer. After opening day, the staff continues training daily, weekly, and monthly to stay on top of their skills so they are rescue-ready at all times.
Patch: What is unique about the park?
Williams: Heritage Falls Water Park features a splash park and a pool complete with a zero entry, 10-foot deep end, and two diving boards. There are various seating areas and a vending lounge for all patrons to enjoy as well.
Specifically, Heritage Falls offers American Red Cross swim lessons in the morning, a “Friday Family Fun Night” (on June 17), a “Dive In Movie” (Mega Mind, July 22) and is available for private rentals. We accommodate large groups such as the Romeoville Parks and Recreation day camp at discounted prices.
