Cannabis Infuser Business Approved In Romeoville

No sales are made at the business; and the public is not allowed on-site.

ROMEOVILLE, IL — At its Wednesday meeting, the Romeoville Village Board approved a special use permit for a cannabis infuser, processor and transporter, Elevated Organics.

The business will be located at 1209-1211 Remington Boulevard, which was previously used for a food operator.

Josh Potter, Community Development Director, said the proposed cannabis infusing operations involves taking the cannabis oil and infusing it into edibles and topicals.

Mayor John Noak said Romeoville was one of the first places to have a retail medical marijuana establishment.

"This particular usage...is a manufacturer," Noak said, adding that the business is an industrial park, and it is a suitable place for such a thing.

Trustee Dave Richards added that it is not a 24/7 manufacturing operation, and has security at all hours.
