Lewis University Wind Quintet performs April 27 in Sancta Alberta Chapel

The Lewis University Wind Quintet will present a free concert at 7:30 p.m. April 27 in the Sancta Alberta Chapel on the Romeoville Main Campus. The program will include Mozart’s Piano Quintet in E-flat major, Darius Milhaud’s La cheminée du roi René, and the premiere of Stephen Platko’s Quintet for Woodwinds.

The Lewis University Wind Quintet is an ensemble of artist-faculty of the Department of Music at Lewis University: Laurel Tempas, flute; Robert Gordon, oboe; Mary Payne, clarinet; Paulette Velazquez, horn; and Lawrence Sisk, bassoon. Joining them for the concert is Dr. Robert Holst, who will play the Mozart Piano Quintet, K452.

The event is being presented as a part of Lewis University’s Arts & Ideas Program, providing cultural and educational programming for students and the community. A portion of the Arts & Ideas events is sponsored by a grant from the Illinois Arts Council.
