A female bank employee was shot in the arm during the robbery, and the suspect fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The FBI said the man is described as a black male appearing to be in his early 20s, standing 5-foot-8 to 6 feet tall with a thin build. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, jeans, a red Chicago Bulls baseball hat and a black bandana with white markings.

Anyone with information on the suspect is asked to call the FBI’s Chicago office at (312) 421-6700.

The robbery was the first of three Will County bank holdups that week. A day after the Bolingbrook incident, two men were arrested in connection with a robbery at Merchants & Manufacturers Bank in Joliet.

On Aug. 15, the suspect in a Plainfield bank robbery was apprehended after a witness followed him as he fled a BMO Harris Bank. The witness relayed information on the suspect’s location to a bank employee and police, who tracked him down in Shorewood and took him into custody.

A spokeswoman for the FBI has said there is no indication the three robberies are connected.
