Gas Station Fighter Had Loaded Gun, Drugs: Report
The 18-year-old Joliet man was reportedly trying to sell drugs earlier in the day.

PLAINFIELD, IL — A Joliet man with a loaded gun and drugs on him got into a fight at a Plainfield gas station Monday.
According to a report from the Herald-News, Marcus A. Lopez, 18, of the 2200 block of Graystone Drive in Joliet, along with another man, went to Thorntons Gas, located at 15800 S. Route 59. A dispute occurred and a fight broke out. A customer in the store tackled Lopez and took the gun he was carrying, which was concealed in a bag, and gave it to the store clerk.
Police found that the gun’s serial number had been scratched off, the article said. They also found Xanax that was not prescribed to him.

The two men had allegedly been trying to sell drugs earlier in the day elsewhere.
Phone messages left with the Plainfield Police Department were not returned Wednesday.

Lopez was charged with possession of a controlled substance, armed violence, disorderly conduct and aggravated unauthorized possession of a firearm, according to online court records.
