Guide To RomeoFest 2018: Four Days Of Fun In Romeoville

Here's everything you need to know about this year's festivities, from live music to special events and, of course, the carnival.

ROMEOVILLE, IL — Four days of fun kick off Thursday, Aug. 2 right here in Romeoville: It's time for RomeoFest 2018.

As of Wednesday, the forecast for Aug. 2 to 5 was partly or mostly cloudy each day, with a low chance of rain and daily highs ranging from 83 to 88 degrees.

Fest hours:

  • 5 to 10 p.m. Thursday
  • 5 to 11 p.m. Friday
  • Noon to 11 p.m. Saturday
  • Noon to 9:30 p.m. Sunday

Mega Passes available at these times:

  • Through Aug. 1 - $45 cash, $47 credit/debit, available at Romeoville Recreation Center, 900 W. Romeo Road, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday/Sunday
  • Aug. 2-5 - $50 cash only, available in carnival during carnival hours only.

Daily wristbands

  • Good for unlimited rides on day of purchase only during carnival hours - $30 cash only

Shuttle bus service

  • 6 p.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday
  • 5 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Sunday

Food Fest 1 Mile Race

  • 6:15 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 2 at Romeoville Toyota Pavilion, 1050 W. Romeo Road
  • Register online or print mail-in registration form; $20 for adults 21 and older, $15 for those ages 20 and younger
  • Limited to 250 participants
  • DJ before/during race, followed by live music from Sixteen Candles at 8 p.m.
  • Check in at Toyota Pavilion by 6 p.m.
  • Participants receive three food fest samples; beer, soda or water; event T-shirts (not guaranteed for those who register after July 23)
  • Walkers welcome

  • 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Recycle the Day (Motown to modern cover band)
  • 5:30 to 7:30 The Hat Guys (variety cover band)
  • 8:30 to 11:30 p.m. Too White Crew (90s cover band)

Sunday

  • 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. 7th Heaven (pop hits band)
  • 7:30 to 9:30 Hillbilly Rockstarz (country and variety band)

Fireworks

  • 9:30 p.m. Friday and Sunday nights, sponsored by Citgo of Lemont refinery

Adult bean bag tournament

  • For ages 18 and older; register day of in RomeoFest beverage garden
  • 6 p.m. start on Thursday, $10 per person, blind draw
  • 4 p.m. start on Saturday, $40 per team, team play
  • 1 p.m. start on Sunday, $10 per person, blind draw
  • Cash prizes for first and second place

  • 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday

Men's softball tournament

  • Saturday, Aug. 4
  • Must be 18 or older to play
  • $225 per team

Family Fun Zone

  • Family entertainers, petting zoo, photo ops, sensory area, watermelon-eating contest, laser tag, face painting and more.

  • 1 to 9:30 p.m. Saturday
  • 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday
  • Must be 18 and older to play
  • Regular games $1 per card, $2 for three cards
  • Guaranteed specials - 6 cards for $5:
    • Thursday and Friday, $100 at 8 p.m.
    • Saturday, $50 at 4 p.m., $100 at 8 p.m.
    • Sunday, $50 at 4 p.m, $50 at 6 p.m., $300 at 8 p.m.

Georgia Wilson Day

  • 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, individuals with special needs invited to ride the carnival for free
  • Must register at the Romeoville Recreation Center or with Northern Will County Special Recreation by Wednesday, Aug. 2. Program code 18SGWDAY
  • No additional tickets will be sold during this time slot. Only those pre-registered will be admitted into the carnival

Talent show

  • For ages 5 to 17; register with the Romeoville Recreation Department by July 22 using code 18STALENT
  • Noon to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Toyota Main Stage
  • No judging — just a chance to show off your talent (including, but not limited to singing, dancing, playing an instrument, performing a skit, magic tricks, juggling)
