Plainfield South High School senior Caley Trepac is collecting new stuffed animals for children who are in the hospital to help them feel less lonely.

Trepac herself had brain surgery three years ago at Rush University Hospital after being diagnosed with Chiari and Syringomyelia.

During her stay at Rush, Trepac said she felt a feeling of loneliness in the other patients.

Trepac wants to build an “ark” full of stuffed animals to donate to children at Rush and Stroger Hospital to ease that loneliness.

To that end, Trepac is organizing “Stuffapawlooza: A Beary Special Cause” on Sunday, Nov. 8 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., at Jameson’s Pub, 2755 Black Road, Joliet.

Attendees can stuff a Plushy Pal for $11 to put on Trepec’s ark for sick children at the two hospitals.

Stuffed animals also can be dropped off at the Plainfield Public Library, 15025 S. Illinois St., Ridge Elementary School, 1900 Caton Ridge Drive, at Trepac’s home, 2302 Holly Ridge Drive, or at Sunday’s event.
