Joliet Junior College will host a groundbreaking ceremony for the Romeoville Expansion on Tuesday, Sept. 8 at 4 p.m. at the Romeoville Campus, 1125 West Romeo Road (West 135th Street) in Romeoville, according to a release from the college.

The expansion, which is scheduled for completion in 2017, will be the first significant construction on the campus since its opening in 1993. In the last 10 years, enrollment at Romeoville has grown 45 percent with current enrollment topping out at 4,000 students. The master plan calls for additional space for academic programs and student development services to respond to this growth.
