Lanes to be Reduced

The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) announced that lane reductions will occur along Cal-Sag Rd. / Illinois Route 83 for a drainage and resurfacing project beginning, weather permitting, today.

In order to complete the work, IL 83 traffic between the Cal-Sag Channel and US 45 may be reduced to one open lane with flaggers at different locations each day. The project will be

occurring in the villages of Lemont, Unincorporated Lemont and Palos Township.

The project is estimated to be complete by July 15.

Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits and be on the alert for workers and equipment.
