Lewis University Foodie 5K Helps Area Food Bank
Run a 5K, enjoy food truck treats to help a good cause.

ROMEOVILLE, IL — Lewis University, 1 University Parkway in Romeoville, will host the Foodie 5K starting at 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 9. All funds raised for this event will benefit the Northern Illinois Food Bank, which is planning on building a South Suburban Center in Joliet by the end of the year.
“The Northern Illinois Food Bank does tremendous work for the communities it serves,” Mayor John Noak said. “We’re eager to welcome them to the south suburbs and I think this run is a fantastic way to raise awareness. It’s fun, it’s healthy, and the money raised goes back to a great cause.”
Participants in the race will receive a $2 food truck voucher to use during the post-race festival, which will feature entertainment, kids activities, and gourmet food trucks.
