Lewis University Ranks In Top 15 Of Best Regional Universities In The Midwest

ROMEOVILLE, IL — Lewis University in Romeoville has jumped up nine spots in just one year in the U.S. News & World Report university rankings, according to a release from the university. The university has an overall rank of 13 in the Best Regional Universities (Midwest) category.

The U.S. News ranking of Lewis University has continuously improved from No. 52 in 2004, No. 34 in 2014, and No. 13 in 2024, the University said.

“The remarkable growth in our reputation in the last two decades recognizes our progressive and responsive approach to meeting students where they are,” Dr. David Livingston, president of the Lewis University, said in a release.

The most notable change in ranking factors for Lewis University in this year’s rankings was its Peer Assessment Score, which indicates how a school is regarded by top administrators at other institutions, the university said.

The historic high score for Lewis University was calculated from the weighted, two-year rolling average of ratings on academic quality it received by presidents, provosts and deans of admissions at institutions in a peer assessment survey.

“Our historically high peer assessment score stands as a resounding affirmation of the trust and respect we have earned from our academic peers. It reflects the recognition of the dedication and expertise of our faculty and staff, the passion and commitment of our students, and the transformative impact of our programs,” Livingston said.

Lewis was also recognized in the categories of Best Value Schools, A+ Schools for B Students, Top Performers on Social Mobility Regional Universities (Midwest), Best Colleges for Veterans Regional Universities (Midwest).
