Light Pole Knocked Over After 2-Vehicle Collision

BOLINGBROOK, IL — A light pole was knocked down on I-55 Tuesday afternoon after a truck and car collided, according to the Illinois State Police.

Police were unable to give any information on how exactly the crash occurred, but said that a light pole fell on the road as a result of it.

“I don’t know which one hit it,” police said.

The incident occurred at around 3:15 p.m. on I-55 north near Route 53. All of the southbound lanes and two of the northbound lanes were closed until the light pole was removed and the scene of the crash was cleared.

The roads are now open and no injuries were reported.
