Man Caught After Battering Girlfriend, Her Mother: Romeoville PD

The 24-year-old from Plainfield faces felony charges.

ROMEOVILLE, IL — Romeoville police said they captured a 24-year-old man accused of battering his girlfriend and his girlfriend's mother after a short foot chase early Thursday. Police responded to the girlfriend's home at 12:45 a.m. Thursday after a she reported that her boyfriend physically assaulted her and her mother.

Police said the boyfriend, 24-year-old Dominic D. Galto of the 24000 block of Deer Creek Court in Plainfield, left the home just before police arrived. Officers canvassed the area and located Galto a short distance from the home. Galto then took off running but was captured after a short foot pursuit, police said.

A press release from Romeoville police did not offer details on the incident but said Galto was charged with felony aggravated domestic battery as well as criminal damage to property and resisting/obstructing a police officer. According to Will County jail and court records, Galto was also charged with interfering with the reporting of domestic violence and criminal damage to property.

Will County court records said bond for Galto was set at $7,500. As a condition of his bond, he is barred from having contact with the mother and daughter or going near their Romeoville home.

A judge also granted the younger Romeoville woman an emergency order of protection against Galto.
