Man Charged With Battery To Pregnant Woman After Foot Chase: PD
Two uninvolved citizens engaged the man, and held him to the ground until officers arrived, police said.
ROMEOVILLE, IL — A Romeoville man has been charged after a physical altercation at Walmart and foot pursuit near Weber and Airport roads on Wednesday, according to Romeoville Police.
Police were called to Walmart, 420 S. Weber Road, at 4:48 p.m. Wednesday about a physical altercation between a man and woman, police said.
An officer saw the man, now identified as Gabriel Rangel, 23, near a business at Weber and Airport roads, police said. Officers approached, and Rangel fled on foot.

Officers chased Rangel, and two uninvolved citizens engaged Rangel, and held him on the ground until officers arrived, according to police.
Rangel was arrested and charged with aggravated battery to a pregnant person, and was also found to be in possession of a controlled substance, police said.

The woman sustained minor injuries, police said.
