Man Charged in Murder of Plainfield Central Hall of Famer Nate Fox
Prosecutors say suspect, who is being held without bail, believed Fox was a romantic rival.

A Hinsdale businessman is being held without bond in the murder of Plainfield Central High School Hall of Fame basketball player Nate Fox.
Fox, 37, a former pro basketball player in Europe, was shot to death in the driveway of his Bloomingdale home as he arrived home from work the night of Dec. 22.

Jeffrey Keller, 51, of the 5500 block of South Park Avenue, is charged with murder in Fox’s death. A DuPage County judge denied bail for Keller this week, the Chicago Tribune reported. Keller is due back in court Jan. 21.
Prosecutors said Keller believed Fox was having an affair with a woman Keller was “emotionally” involved with, alleging that Keller stalked and ultimately murdered Fox, according to the Tribune. Officials reportedly said Fox worked with the woman at an insurance agency but was not involved with her.

Keller is the CEO of Internet company 8to18 Inc. and owns a home valued at more than $1 million, officials said in court, according to NBC Chicago.
Fox, a 1995 Plainfield High School graduate, played college basketball for the University of Maine before playing pro basketball in Europe from 2000 to 2012.
