Man Killed by Metra Train in Naperville Identified

Todd Olson, 33, died after being struck by a Metra train in Naperville Tuesday morning.

A second person in recent weeks has been struck and killed by a Metra train on the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway tracks in Naperville.

Todd Olson, 33, of Romeoville, died Tuesday morning after being hit by a Metra train around 10:40 a.m. near the Metra’s Fourth Avenue station, 105 E. Fourth Ave., according to the Naperville Sun.

Authorities are awaiting toxicology results and have not determined an official cause of death for Olson though foul play is not suspected, according to the article.

Olson’s death marks the second in recent days on the Metra tracks in Naperville.The body of Jennifer Jungels, 36, of the 1200 block of North Main St., was found on the Metra/Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway line tracks, about 100 yards west of Mill Street, around midnight on Sept. 6, according to the article.
