No Suspect In Custody Yet In Connection With Friday's Shooting In Romeoville

Police said that during an argument, the suspect fired multiple shots, which killed a 19-year-old man and injured a 16-year-old.

ROMEOVILLE, IL — No suspect is in custody yet in connection with Friday night's shooting at Scene75 Entertainment Center in Romeoville, police told Patch Tuesday.

Police responded to the shooting at 460 S. Weber Road on Friday night. Police said that during an argument, the suspect fired multiple shots, which killed a 19-year-old man and injured a 16-year-old.

The suspect, who is from Chicago, has been identified, but is not in custody, police said.

The shooter fled the scene in a vehicle, and both victims were taken to Ascension Saint Joseph's Hospital in Joliet. The Will County Coroner's Office said the 19-year-old was from Chicago and was pronounced dead at the hospital at 9:21 p.m. as the result of multiple gunshot wounds. His name has not been released.

In a community update on Saturday, police said the 16-year-old was in stable condition.

Authorities said there is no ongoing risk to the public. The shooting remains under investigation.
