She was born on January 30, 1946, to the late Mary (Janis) and George Mendes in Chicago, where she was raised and educated. She was a graduate of Cooley High.
Georganne is the beloved wife of 63 years to Louis "Yankee" Christopher; loving mother of Louie and Rocky (Gina) Christopher; proud grandmother of Rocky (Xantè), Alexia, Nick, Sammy and Matthew, and great-grandma of Lilly.
