District leaders credit strong teaching, support staff, and community backing for Romeoville's performance and its high standing in the Southwest Prairie Conference.

Johnathan Allen reinstated with full back pay after he mistakenly killed a man during a 2022 standoff at a Weber Road bank in town. The Will County Sheriff's Office is still weighing an appeal, leaving questions about if and when Allen will return to duty.

Will County yet to disburse approved grant for immigration services group (chicagotribune.com) — Will County leaders are at odds over why $200,000 in cannabis tax revenue for an immigration services nonprofit still hasn't been released, even though the grant was approved last November. Romeoville Democratic board member Destinee Ortiz says the delay hurts immigrant families in communities like Romeoville, Joliet and Bolingbrook, while the county executive's office argues the proposal lacked clear documentation and purpose.
