- Buchos Restaurant in Bolingbrook serves up huge margaritas, and each dinner comes with amazing Mexican chicken soup. Plus, the atmosphere is great. Try the dilled vegetables.
- La Mex: La Mex in Joliet is a full-service Mexican restaurant known for its good service and friendly personnel. Be sure to order a margarita. On Tuesdays they are half price, and they are always good and strong.
- Casa Maya in Shorewood is a favorite with my family. My daughter clears her entire kid’s plate of chicken and rice, my husband loves their homemade tamales and I cannot pass on Uncle Tito’s special (a combination of chicken and shrimp with Mexican rice).
- Mariscos La Laguna: La Laguna in downtown Joliet (on Eastern Avenue) is a must try for authentic Mexican seafood and mouth-watering Micheladas (a Mexican beer made with tomato juice, lime juice, spices and peppers).
